A Division Bench comprising Justice V. Eshwariah and Justice N. Ravi Shanker clarified that the answer sheets of the candidates who used whitener fluid in the examination held for recruitment to Grade II ‘A’ services may be re-evaluated, excluding the answers which were corrected using the white fluid. The final adjudication will be done by the A.P. Administrative Tribunal (APAT) on this issue meanwhile.
The Bench was disposing of the writ petition filed by N. Kylasa Rao and others who were complaining that the APAT did not stay the ongoing selection process though they had demonstrated that some candidates used whitener fluid to correct the answer sheets.
The judges took note of the fact that though over 4.45 lakh candidates applied only1.80 lakh students took the examination and ‘only some used whitener’. The Bench wondered as “to how the white fluid was permitted inside the examination hall”.
